Another two pages from my sketchbook for the Sketchbook project 2012. I have to send it in very soon, and I had to do it in a hurry.. not exactly what I had in mind when I entered the project..

My mom came over yesterday to do sketchbooks with me. She visited the Brooklyn Art Library this summer and fell in love with the place and the project and decided to enter the project herself. Brooklyn Art Library is exhibiting and storing all the sketchbooks from the Sketchbook Project, and seems like a really great place. We spent some good hours drawing and sketching, and now my sketchbook is almost full.

It has become a “real” sketchbook, not filled with great art, but little experiments with different kinds of drawing methods. The first page above with the animals is drawn without lifting the pen from the paper, which I think gives the drawings a special “unintended” naive characteristica.

The one with the 35 faces is drawn with my left hand, which is my weak hand. Making those kinds of drawing experiments helps me to think differently about my own normal drawings and style. You can see the first page with 40 faces drawn with my right hand here.
